The largest of the shelf / stand-mounted monitors in the Sonetto “collection” of Sonus Faber uses a 2-way and 2-speaker configuration with bass loading via a rectangular bass-reflex port - and therefore with laminar airflow, easier to control than that generated by a circular section port - located in the lower area on the front panel. As regards the speakers used, they have been specifically designed for the Sonetto range by Sonus Faber. Specifically, it is a 29 mm diameter silk dome tweeter with DAD technology (“Damped Apex Dome”) and viscoelastic decoupling of the front panel and a 165 mm diameter “midwoofer” with a cone made of a natural fiber. special and air-dried raw paper pulp blend, which provides extreme linearity accompanied by very low dynamic compression. The set, mounted in an enclosure with the iconic lute shape of Sonus Faber is managed by an anti-resonant design crossover filter with amplitude and phase curves optimized to obtain the best possible performance both at a spatial and temporal level. Executed with audiophile grade components and tuned by ear, this filter allows the Sonetto II to reproduce frequencies of the order of 42 Hz with little loss and withstand attack powers of up to 200 watts, providing extreme versatility in both high-end applications.
