The renowned Italian firm Sonus Faber has just announced the launch of the Maxima Amator, a stylized two-way column designed to achieve a unique emotion through the precise representation of the idea of natural sound.
Often considered the purest electroacoustic system, the two-way configuration has been one of the strongest pillars of brand identity at Sonus Faber , and the Maxima Amator pays homage to both this tradition and the music itself, by offer the listener absolute immersion in it.
Integrated into the prestigious Heritage range, the Maxima Amator is an elegant 2-way bass-reflex speaker equipped with a solid walnut cabinet developed using advanced wood treatment processes. Regarding the speakers used, the new Sonus Faber has exactly the same ones as the celebrated Electa Amator III.
A 28 mm DAD – “Damped Apex Dome” – tweeter and a rear chamber with an acoustic labyrinth structure made of spruce wood are responsible for reproducing the upper part of the spectrum, while the ranges
Medium and low frequencies are entrusted to a “midwoofer” with a 180 mm cone, made of an exclusive mixture of cellulose pulp and natural fibers.
The Maxima Amator is completed with a key innovation that largely determines its unmistakable sonic personality: a groundbreaking frequency divider filter that responds to the name IFF (“Interactive Fusion Filtering”) and is materialized in a configuration that dispenses with the classic first-order circuit topology using unconventional transfer functions exclusive to the Italian brand.
