It is the first in the new generation of one of Pro-Ject's most popular ranges, the E-Line, designed to deliver a premium listening experience on a limited budget.
It is a plug & play design with belt-drive and factory preset pick-up capsule, so that those wishing to enter the world of analogue audio are not intimidated by the formal complexity of vinyl players.
In keeping with the ethos of the prestigious Austrian company, the E1.2 is, considering its literally hyper-competitive price, a prodigy of mechanical engineering, incorporating elements typical of considerably more expensive products.
Thus, the platter is now made of cast aluminium (as opposed to the ABS polymer of the previous model) weighing 730 grams, in order to create an ideal anti-resonant platform for vinyl records.
In parallel, a high-mass, gimbal-type, aluminium-tubed read arm with an effective length of 218.5 mm (8.6") provides robust record tracking and high sound stability.
The E1.2 is completed by a void-free chassis, a glass-fibre reinforced ABS subplatter, a swivel system with stainless steel shaft and ball, electronic swivel speed change, decoupling feet and a high-quality phono cable.
