Controlled by a dedicated Quad Platina app, it has been specifically designed to perfectly match its functionality, transforming any iOS or Android device into a sleek control centre for local and cloud libraries. Refined typography, logical hierarchy and fluid gesture control ensure an experience as complete as the hardware itself.
An ultra-fast indexer works in the background to catalogue network shares, USB drives and streaming services as a single, unified library. Simply type in a song title, artist, composer, label, year or even genre, and the app will display accurate results in real time, sorted by relevance.
With customisable features and settings, the Platina app allows you to create playlists instantly and save them permanently with a single gesture. You can create playlists or folders to organise large catalogues and even group multi-disc compilations, remasters or thematic compilations in one place for smoother browsing. Press and hold any track, album or artist and a contextual menu appears: add to playlist, queue, play now, replace queue and more.
Unlike many third-party interfaces, the Quad app maintains native highlighting of Qobuz Studio / Sublime+ and Tidal Masters levels with icons indicating the source of those files, so at a glance you can confirm that you're listening to the highest resolution version available.
For users who prefer the interface of their preferred streaming service, Platina Stream offers full compatibility with Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Airplay 2 and UPnP music server systems or digital audio files stored on USB HDD devices, offering flexibility and uncompromising fidelity.

At its core is the eight-channel ESS Sabre ES9038PRO ESS DAC, controlled by two precision master clocks for extremely low jitter, class-leading linearity and support for PCM up to 768 kHz and native DSD512. A multi-core processor Quad Arm® Cortex-A53 at 1.8 GHz per core provides the computational power needed for fast library management, album art caching and exceptional playback control. This DAC matches the performance of the QUAD Platina Integrated solution for flawless and accurate performance. However, by design, the Platina Stream offers broader functionality with its digital and analogue outputs: it integrates seamlessly into any audio system with a choice of pure digital or high-fidelity analogue output.
Thanks to its integrated high-performance digital-to-analogue stage, signal stability and quality are preserved with XLR and RCA balanced analogue output options. Together with a choice of optical and coaxial outputs, this maintains the flexibility to integrate into larger audiophile systems.
The 4.3-inch, 800 × 480 pixel IPS display offers full menu navigation, multi-language support and real-time playback information. Choose from graphic-centric, data-rich or vu-metered displays, or dim the screen completely for late-night sessions. An elegant system remote control reflects the PLATINA design language and unifies control of all components in the range, while the front-panel encoder and included remote control provide precise, menu-driven control for quick parameter adjustment.
