ATLAS EQUATOR OPTICAL DIGITAL CABLE
Toslink (optical) connections have become increasingly popular with the emergence of personal audio devices and "dual-purpose" DACs, many of which are also used as components in high-end home systems. However, basic "bundled" Toslink cables suffer from a number of issues that degrade system performance. Typically, these problems include poor quality conductive materials, poor conductor matching to connectors, and poorly fitting connectors to equipment sockets. These flaws generally combine into very poor jitter performance that provides the grainy and tonally bleached sound characteristic of low-quality digital audio.
Atlas Toslink cables are designed to specifically address these issues. Cable construction begins with a high-quality light-conducting optical fiber. A thermal barrier protects the delicate fiber from heat deformation and a mechanical outer barrier is applied to protect the assembly against damage. Ends are precision polished to reduce harmful reflections. With efficient light transfer characteristics without erasure, the sound quality provided by Equator fiber optic cable, in common with all Atlas interconnects, is comprehensive, relaxed and transparent.
