The most powerful model in the S Series, the 212 Black Label is fitted with four 305 mm drivers (two active front-firing drivers and two passive flat-diaphragm drivers, one rear-firing and one bottom-firing) featuring “CarbonAlloy” cones.
These are driven by a 1,000-watt continuous-output Linear Class D amplifier (which harmonises Class AB and Class D operating modes), providing a sense of scale and dynamics comparable to those of a REL Line Array configuration.
In short, a true benchmark design, engineered not only to evoke literally visceral sensations when listening to music, but also to maximise detail resolution and restore the warmth of the midrange.
Special mention must be made of the impressive down-firing passive bass radiator, which, through the combination of a flat diaphragm with a ‘Carbon Carbon’ structure, a steel chassis and a special dual internal suspension, further increases the maximum sound pressure level and bass extension, thanks to an additional 30 mm of excursion.
In the case of the active speakers, the updated geometry of the peripheral suspension and superior power handling capacity substantially increase their already extraordinary excursion capability.
