WILSON AUDIO TUNETOT SPEAKERS
WILSON AUDIO TUNETOT
Presented in society during the Munich High End pageant this year, the TuneTot is the most recent performance of the “ Wilson Special Applications Engineering ”. A product that constitutes a real challenge in terms of engineering in that its objective is to offer the characteristic elements of the electroacoustic design culture of Wilson Audio - timbral beauty, dynamic subtlety, sound scene resolution and transparency - in environments that are usually hostile to them. This means that the status of the TuneTot as the smallest and most affordable loudspeaker in the history of the legendary American firm does not prevent it from being built by the same team that developed the monumental WAMM Master Chronosonic and, therefore, with the same processes and techniques. In fact, both the enclosure and the transducers used in the new Wilson Audio derived from models Alexx and Sabrina, while the precision applied in its manufacture makes each unit technically and musically identical to the reference prototype, which means that the user will hear exactly what Daryl Wilson did when he completed the final design. The sophistication of the TuneTot can be seen especially in two characteristics imposed by its creators: on the one hand, the need to isolate the loudspeaker itself from its environment and, on the other, to have adjustable correction in the time domain, a particularity last consubstantial to the DNA of Wilson Audio. Hence, the TuneTot is accompanied by precise and simple instructions at the same time so that it can be tuned in the time domain for each installation.
