WILSON AUDIO ALEXX FLOOR SPEAKERS
WILSON AUDIO ALEXX
Alexx is the name of the most recent foray of the legendary American firm Wilson Audio in the world of large speakers. With a unique business trajectory starring the pursuit of absolute excellence in the reproduction of recorded music, the company chaired by David Wilson has once again been able to surpass itself in the form of a slender column based on the platform created for the development of the Alexia model: the Alexx. We are facing a spectacular three-way loudspeaker that was born as a result of the latest discoveries made by the firm of Provo (Utah. USA) in fields such as timbral definition, dynamic expressiveness, sound scene adjustment, materials science and the integration of large loudspeaker systems in domestic rooms. Equipped with a total of five loudspeakers, the Alexx stands out especially for two fundamental elements: first, the possibility of adjusting each of the three upper modules completely independently in the front-rear direction and, secondly, for incorporating a bass-reflex port that can be located in the front and rear areas of the bass cabinet, that is, as in the Alexandria XLF, current flagship of Wilson Audio. The fine adjustment of the upper modules, which house the transducers responsible for reproducing the medium and high frequencies, makes it possible to fine-tune the sound image in each room applying the laws of optics - exactly the same as in an aspherical lens - thanks to the fine adjustment of time sound propagation delay - to ensure that the user is at the optimal listening point when listening to their favorite music. On the other hand, the possibility of placing the bass-reflex port on the front or rear panel of the box gives the Alexx a unique installation flexibility by guaranteeing a perfect adaptation even in “difficult” spaces and / or with reflective elements. In its condition as a reference product signed by Wilson Audio, the Alexx also includes other technological elements so characteristic of the brand such as the sophisticated “Convergent Synergy” tweeter, midrange speakers based on those developed for the X-2 Alexandria and woofers designed to give an unprecedented extension to the response in the lower part of the spectrum. All this in the context of an enclosure made with the exclusive composite materials of Wilson Audio and a crossover filter executed with custom-made components that has been fine-tuned to fully exploit the capabilities of a speaker / cabinet set in a loudspeaker designed to revolutionize music reproduction without compromise. Features: - 3-way / 5-speaker system with modular architecture. - Enclosure: Bass-reflex for the bass modules (with adjustable port in front / rear position) and middle and hermetic for the treble module. - Frequency response: 20 - 31,000 Hz, +/- 3 dB - Sensitivity: 91 dB / W / m - Nominal impedance: 4 Ohm - Recommended minimum power: 50W RMS - Dimensions: 400 x 1,582 x 680 mm (W x H x P) - Weight: 205 kg.
