Designed to reproduce the centre channel for home cinema systems based on the Linton Heritage and Denton Heritage models – drawing inspiration from their technology and aesthetics to ensure perfect tonal balance and visual integration with them – the Linton Heritage Centre Wharfedale is a paragon of refinement and sensitivity.
The key lies in its internal driver configuration, comprising two 165 mm diameter woofers with interlaced Kevlar fibre cones, a 50 mm soft-dome midrange driver and a tweeter, also with a soft dome, measuring 25 mm. All are arranged in such a way as to complement the aforementioned Heritage models, with the aim of ensuring coherent dialogue reproduction, uniform dispersion and maximum tonal consistency in the front soundstage.
Crucial to this is the carefully designed topology of its crossover network, which, in conjunction with the aforementioned drivers and the tuning of the enclosure, delivers an extremely natural tonal quality and superior vocal intelligibility without colouration, even at very high volume levels.
For its part, the cabinet is built to the same standards of excellence as the Linton Heritage and Denton Heritage models, meaning it features internal bracing to suppress any potential resonances, whilst the use of two bass-reflex ports expands the bass response whilst controlling it, minimising colouration regardless of the content being played.
