Redesigned all parts
The optical unit, lens and circuit board have been redesigned to achieve the world's smallest native 4K projector.
Reduced size
The DLA-NZ500 is 35% smaller in size than its predecessor the DLA-NZ7 without giving up the laser light source and Native 4K D-ILA devices.
Redesigned air intake
By placing the heat exhaust at the rear, its potential impact on image projection is eliminated. This allows for greater installation flexibility.
Environmental considerations
The design of the new projector models uses significantly less plastic, which also reduces transport costs. This results in a much more environmentally friendly device.
0.69" 4K Native D-ILA devices that improve video quality
JVC's proprietary 0.69" 4K Native D-ILA device has been optimised for even better black detail.
High Native Contrast
The DLA-NZ500 achieves a native contrast of 40,000:1 which is achieved by improving alignment control and pixel flatness.
Uniform brightness
The manufacturing process has improved brightness uniformity across the entire screen, achieving beautiful picture quality in every corner
Low Latency
The low latency design greatly improves the response to fast user operation, making it effective when projecting high refresh rate video games on a large screen.
High brightness and long life
JVC's proprietary Blu-Escent laser light source uses a blue laser diode as the light source. The DLA-NZ500 achieves a brightness of 2,000 lumens. Its life expectancy is around 20,000 hours.
Improved efficiency
The JVC DLA-NZ500's brightness per watt of power is approximately double that of the first BLU-Escent laser-equipped model (the DLA-Z1, launched in January 2017 and with a brightness of 3000 lumens).
Controlled luminance in 101 steps
The BLU-Escent laser can easily adjust the luminance according to ambient lighting and user preferences thanks to the Light Source Control setting. There are a total of 101 levels (from 0 to 100) that you can use to reach the target luminance in the environment and display.
Superior Resolution
The newly designed, large-aperture Lens (80mm, 11 groups, 15 lenses) with 4K compatibility delivers native D-ILA 4K resolution to all corners of the screen.
HDR dramatically enhances the expressive power of images
When it comes to reproducing the rich information of HDR content, including extended brightness range, BT.2020 colour gamut and 10-bit gradation, trust D-ILA projectors. Compatible with all HDR formats including HDR10 for Blu-ray and streaming, HLG for broadcasting and HDR10+ with dynamic metadata support. This projector features enhancements that give it greater brightness and contrast, and have helped to achieve a higher dynamic range, allowing users to enjoy an immersive audio experience with fully realistic HDR images.
DML (Display Mastering Luminance) for a better HDR experience
DML (Max Display Mastering Luminance) metadata, with the nit level of professional-grade monitors used to meet the film director's standards, is used to establish the dynamic range of the work through enhanced HDR tonal mapping. In the DLA-NZ500, both DML and MaxCLL values are used for HDR levels.
What is HDR10+
In HDR10, the basic standard for HDR content playback, there are only two pieces of information: MaxCLL, which represents the maximum brightness of the content, and MaxFALL, which represents the average maximum brightness. However, with HDR10+, the lighting information for each scene is embedded in the content as metadata, enabling scene-specific tonal mapping that faithfully reproduces the HDR image as the creator intended.
HDR Frame Adapt function for brighter, more colourful HDR images
The HDR Frame Adapt feature, which uses a proprietary algorithm to instantly analyse the maximum brightness of any HDR content per scene or frame and reproduces in real time the optical tonal mapping for the dynamic range of the projection, has evolved to its second generation. The tonal mapping algorithm has been completely re-examined to achieve HDR images with higher definition. In addition, the proprietary algorithm for colour curve selection has also been improved to reproduce HDR images that are brighter, more colourful and have greater dynamic range.
Blacker blacks for greater gradation
The new Deep Black Tone Control joins Frame Adapt HDR with a new algorithm to add more tones in dark areas for more realistic darkness. This feature maximises the dynamic range of the new generation of 4K D-ILA devices and delivers images with more contrast than ever before. Scenes with dark lights and shadows such as nightscapes can be projected more realistically.
Vivid picture mode for SDR colour reproduction
Vivid picture mode is a Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) mode that reproduces content in rich colours. You can enjoy popular SDR video content such as animation in sharp images with bright, rich colours.
